De-Clutter Your Bathroom Like a Pro

De-Clutter Your Bathroom Like a Pro

It is a well-known fact that clutter can be a contributing factor to stress, therefore as the bathroom is normally the first room you use at the beginning of your day and the last one you use at night; it is important that it is a calm and welcoming environment. Here are our top tips to help you declutter your bathroom like a pro…

JUST GETTING STARTED

Why not try viewing your bathroom as a first-time visitor? Let’s admit it, all of us have visually re-organised a friends’ home when visiting! It is always easier to judge a space when it isn’t yours or you don’t have any personal connection to it.

Or are you motivated by before and after progress photos?  This is a great way to motivate yourself to start your decluttering task as looking back at the before the photo is always rewarding to see how much better the room looks.

OUT WITH THE OLD

Those items left over from the Christmas gift set, that you are keeping but probably won’t use, it's time they went. If they are unused and unopened why not gift them to a friend or donate them to your local food bank?

Don’t use it every day? Then it probably doesn’t belong in your bathroom, only keep things that you use daily or weekly at most. Everything else can be stored elsewhere, given away, or recycled.

EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE

If you are planning a brand-new bathroom, investing in an under-sink bathroom cabinet is a functional, stylish, and essential storage solution. Their dual function maximises room without taking up any extra floor or wall space with additional bathroom furniture.

Bathroom shelves or baskets are a great option for storing bottles, see our Omika shelves with their decorative inserts. If you choose to store your bottles in this way, why not make them into a feature with your fanciest toiletries?

'FLOORDROBE' NO MORE

If your bathroom has to work hard with many members of the family using it daily, a laundry bin might be a good addition to stop the floor from becoming the final resting place for those items that need washing! Or why not try a caddy for each member of the family? These could be decorative in nature and storing those bathing essentials in style. Hanging towels from a robe hook rather than a towel bar also provides a clutter-free look whilst keeping the towels easily accessible.

SHELVE IT

Installing a shelf above the door is ideal for keeping spare towels and toilet rolls, as this is a great space-saving option for bathrooms that are smaller in size. Also by having the shelving out of sight of when you enter the room it means your eye is not instantly drawn to look at it.
